Default First post. Nice board.

Just found the place last night and it looks like a good spot! I am a rank amature with a good buddy who has turned me on to bass fishing. Last May, just a few months in, I got unbelievably lucky and caught a ten pounder. So I am hooked, if not officially spoiled. Birmingham, Alabama is home. I'm looking forward to learning a bunch from you folks!

Callin...I think I'm going to be sick......

Holy crap, man. I bet your hands were shaking when you were fighting that beast. What a fish!!!

Welcome to the board, bud.

Let's hope you're not left "chasing the dragon" forever, man.

It blew me away. We were on a private lake I've learned has perfect conditions/cover and gets little to no pressure. I had caught four or five 1-2 pounders early in the day and then went about three hours without a strike. Caught it on one of the last casts of the evening before dark on a $1 wal mart cheapie buzz bait that I had literally been making fun of a minute before. I was reeling it slowly under the surface and all of a sudden it gradually but firmly moved away from me. Not a huge impactful strike at all. After a second, I was like "Chris, I think this is a big fish." I saw the boil and then Sonofgun jumped and I almost crapped my pants. Still rocks my world.

Nothing says excitement like almost crapping your pants. Because crapping you pants would be an embarrassment. Nice fish CIS.

Welcome Slick!

You have GOT to be kidd'n me! I had to beat the banks HARD, my first two years of bass fishin', before I caught my first Lunker. And it only took you a few months. What did ya do.. go and make a deal with the devil?

Welcome aboard. Unfortunately, the board is now over the allowed members from Alabama. You are welcome to stay pn the site, but you are required to move to another state...
Very nice fish.

Welcome to the boards, and WOW...nice fish!!!

I've been bass fishing for 10 years here in MN and just got my first 5 pounder (5lb 3oz) in 2009. If the MN state record LM is only 8-15, that means a 5-3 here is the equivalent of a 10 pounder in AL.....right?!?
