Well, it's only to be expected considering the gazillion tons of birth control pill chemicals women squirt out in their vain desire to control their menstrual cycle. An even better question is, what happens to all of the male HUMANS who are forced to ingest all of these hormones when their local water supply is not sufficiently filtered. No wonder we have raised a generation of sissy men.

Been known for a while now. The Potomac in D.C. are has produced numerous bass with both male/female organs, most noticable in smallmouth as of now. Problem is as NFE stated, female hormones resulting from birth control pills has polluted the water systems. The problem is, as I have read, water treatment facilities CANNOT filter out those hormones. The problem is being noticed more accross the Country. We (humans) are our own worst enemy, and will undoubtably push ourselves into extinction, sending many other species to that end along the way. Say what you want about environmentalists, Green Peace, tree huggers, etc. But this planet is not a bottomless trashcan for our waste.

The irony of the situation is, the environmentalist lefties are usually found in lockstep with the womens' reproductive rights groups. Somehow, I get the feeling they're going to come up with a solution in which the rich need to get taxed more for better water filtration.

Not only birth control pills are the cause of that, also, millions of cows, sheep and goats ( prolactin, corionic gonadotropin, prostaglandines, estrogen analogs ) also get regular doses of hormones to increase milk production, the animals urinate and the hormones get on the soil where they leach into the water systems.
