Default Changing a reel

Hi everyone im an angler who is semi-new to fishing. I have not done many ameture tournaments or anything. My neighbor gave me a mitchel 310 ultra lite reel. while my dad has an old zebco gold 33 classic gold closed reel hes passed down to me. i was wondering how i could change from the rhino reel i have from my combo on now to one of the two? so you dont think im a little slow on not knowing this. i only do lake fishing close to my area and such no traveling very much thank you

Welcome to the forum!

You shoudn't have any problem switching the Zebco and the Rhino-they both use the same type rod. The Mitchell 301 is a spinning reel I believe-has an open face and rides underneath the rod. For that one you will probably need to get a spinning rod. You can get one that will work at someplace like WalMart for not a whole lot of $.

Take a look at the reel seat on the rod handle. There should be some threads on one end or the other with a ring on it that secures the reel to the rod. Just unscrew that and take the old reel off and reverse the process to put the new reel on.
