Zooker, my bet is that you see your bait for the whole length of the cast in that picture. TWo things;; Bet it's hard on the water pump, and you bet your bait action is really somewhat muted! he he

I think these are all good ideas. I know I've lost my share of lures and definately don't want to lose any more. When you guys make them out of weights and such, how big of a weight to you use??

That's what Lake Allatoona and Lake Lanier looks like right now (except not nearly as many stumps, looks like Mars landscape!). I've been cruising, getting out building rockpiles, gathering old Christmas trees piles (from previous years) and repositioning them into single bigger piles, sinking new Christmas trees and custom brush piles at various levels so that I can have brush piles regardless of the lake level (even if the drought persists I will have brushpiles down as deep as 25' at the lowest lake levels we saw this year, almost 22' low).

If folks don't take advantage of those opportunities, like you and like me, then shame on them when the water comes up!

BB, I use 1 and 2 oz. weights. Lighter than that doesn't do the job as well and you really don't need heavier than that.

I went to the dollar general today at lunch and picked up a retracting dog leash. It only goes to 12 feet, but I am about to tear it apart and restring it with 30 lb test mono to see if I can get 20 foot , or so out of it. P N JC
