Heddon Torpedo....you can reverse the props if you want more commotion.....not always necessary, but there if you want it. Also, going to Sally Beauty Supply and buying a bottle of nail polish, the PRO brand in the Mango Color......using it to paint the entire body of a torpedo is a great topwater for early spring to early summer.....just something different they probably haven't seen.......can be very effective.

I have caught most of my topwaters on spooks and poppers.
Not much of a bite down here when the sun comes up.
I love getting the blood flowing early in the morning when it is quiet and you hear that splash.

I probably caught more fish on a Zip n ziggy than anything else but my go to topwater lure is the spro chug minnow.

I received one for my birthday 2 years ago and now I bought a dozen more of them incase I can't find them in a few years. Ivan

Hey weezymagic,
I have been fishing a lot on Lake Tarpon.
My brother lives on the lake and he is kinda my fishing partner.
Been on that lake every weekend since the first of July when I finally got my first boat.
Looking to expand my horizons in the future, but still catching quite a few there.

Roland Martin's helicopter lure,. It was actually outlawed at one point cuz it caught 3 times more bass than live bait.

Also propbaits, spooks, pop-rs. Topwater fishing is old, many of the very first bas s lures were topwater designs. Not been too many huge advancements - although I sometimes twitch flukes on the surface (super fast retrieve to keep it up top and get reaction strikes) and some people swear by the rage toads.

nothing is better than that late evening slightly choppy water over some stumps with a booyah buzz bait and a huge bass slams the bait. just rember to wait for the pull then set the hook.

hmm, that's a tough one! I've caught more bass on ribbit frog than any other top water bait.. but with the new rage tail baits, I dunno. It would be a tie between ribbits, and rage toads and shads. Next would be s buzzbait.... probably a a boohay.

I love torpedoes best of all but poprs are good and buzzbaits too and have had limited success on jitterbug but frogs and flukes are good to use as topwaters too

Jitterbugs, especially Black either the XL Musky or 5/8ounce jointed. worked for 40 years now!
Alluring Plastics , and a few different hollow frogs
Jointed #13 Gold or Silver Rapalas worked/twitched on top
Spittin Images
New to the line up; MS Mini Slammers

Jitterbugs will always be my favorite, with that Plop, plop,Plop SPOOSSHHH Fish ON!!!!!!
