Default 2010 BassFishin.Com Member Event on Dale Hollow

Okay Everybody, here what BassinBandit, Bcklash, and I, have come up with so far. After spending allot of time looking over all of what Dale Hollow has to offer, we have decided on holding the event at http://www.starpointresort.com/home.htm

Star Point Resort is a top-notch fisherman's retreat, with many anglers attending annually in search of Dale Hollow's renowned smallmouth bass.

I have spoke with the management and have been allowed to put a temporary hold on the use of the entire LODGE facility(accommodates 26) until we decide on dates. Here is what is available at the lower priced non-seasonal rates. 20% discount

- April 29,30,May 1 and Management reports; best time for smallmouth; coming off beds.

- May 6,7,8 best time for smallmouth; coming off beds.

- May 13,14,15

- May 20,21,22

- June 3,4,5 and Management said if we would like, they would extend the lower priced non-seasonal rate for this time slot.

- June 24,25,26 Seasonal rates apply

Keep in mind that the month of May on average has more precipitation than the month of June.

Let's hear your thoughts so that we can pick a weekend and reserve the Lodge for our event.

I am for the beginning of May, though I will gladly change this if it keeps the students from being able to come. I have never caught a big smallie before, and would love to hit the jackpot.

I agree, Nofear. But I do remember what BB144 had to say about missing school.

So what do ya think, BB144? As per our phone conversation, Nathan Copeland the owner of the resort, says that the smallmouth are most active this time of year. He reports that this is when the smallies are coming off of the beds and are most agressive.

It's not so much my highschool (AP Calc and Physics) classes I'm worried about missing, it'll be any college classes that I may miss. I don't know how many classes I'm taking next semester yet, but probably two.

I am still gonna have to vote for the May 6,7,8 dates. If not those, my second choice would be the late may ones (20-22).

Spoken like a true fisherman.

That's 3 votes for the May 6,7,8.

Me and my dad's vote are for when ever fishing is best! Sounds like a good plan to me! That's being:

Quote:
- April 29,30,May 1 and Management reports; best time for smallmouth; coming off beds.

- May 6,7,8 best time for smallmouth; coming off beds.
I would guess.

But my dad said we would go on ONE condition, we had a boat, some one we could fish with. It would probably just be my my dad, my older brother, and I. I think we could be on different boats if it's ok my dad (which it probably will). So anyone wanna offer?

I also saw that they have 14' Jon boats for rent, but I don't think that they some with fish finders and what not like you guys would have on you rigs.

And also, what kinda stuff are the small mouth gonna be biting 'round then?

Ok, it looks like early May would be good to me!

Boss...there were a lot of unfilled fishing boats at last year's event. I would lay good odds on there being some empty seats this year too. As long as you promise not to spell.

Yep. Infact, I don't think my dad and I are gonna bring our boat down. gas just killed us in my truck pulling the boat, and we've got a slow boat. We'll probably split up as well.

15 hours away and school still in session leaves me out... again. In 15 years I will be retired so you guys need to keep this going 'til about 2025. Seriously, I think I'll plan a local trip that weekend and pretend I'm there!

Arrow 2010 Bassfishin.Com Member Event, Scheduled for May 6,7,8

Hi Everybody,

After mentioning the fact that the best time for catching smallies is in early May; your response in evident that this would be the best time to hold our annual Get-Together at Dale Hollow next year. So the date is set for May 6,7,8th.

I just had the pleasure of speaking with Nathan Copeland of Star Point Resort in scheduling our Get-Together and to reserve THE PINE LODGE(http://www.starpointresort.com/lodge.htm) for our gathering. I have a feeling that you are all gonna love this place. The PINE LODGE will put all of us that want to be together, under the same roof, so that we can all get-together and get to know each other while relaxing in and enjoying the comfort of the shared MEETING ROOM and the HUGE DECK. Keep in mind though that each private and secured room has its own bath and full kitchen also. Of the 7 rooms, room#1 is located closest to the MEETING ROOM; the way Nathan describes it, room#1's kitchen will open to the MEETING ROOM for our nightly gatherings and meals, like the one that Lisa and John's will be hosting on Saturday night. Also keep in mind that rooms #9 and #10 are located on the second floor, so if you don't like taking the stairs, I would avoid these two rooms. Whether we are relaxing inside the MEETING ROOM or outside on the deck we will have the comforts of home and yet be able to enjoy the great outdoors.

Nathan Copeland has graciously agreed to accept only BassFishin.com reservations for the LODGE to our event. What he has asked though, is that you call and reserve your room as soon as possible. When you call let him know that you are with BassFishin.com; then he will reserve the room under your name. This is the part that amazed me about the way they do business; he does not ask for any money up front. What he said was, is that he would mail each of you a confirmation letter at the first of the year with your reservation and a request for payment of one nights stay and the rest due at check in. Simply amazing, now if that doesn't have "our guests come first" written all over it, I don't know what does. What I take from this great first impression of Mr. Copeland is that we should all come away from this stay very well pleased with Star Point Resort.

For those of you that wish, camping is also available, and if you prefer a more private stay, they also offer other cabins to choose from.

Call and make your reservations 1-866-782-7768

Don't forget to let them know your with BassFishin.com
