Default Super Hawk

The boat is on another website. Only has one pic but it is a 21 footer with a tandem axle trailer. I sent an email requesting more info.

Would it be safe to pull this boat with my 95 Lincoln Continental? The car is 3900 lbs and has a V8 with front wheel drive. Provided the trailer has trailer brakes.

Thanks

Over 16 foot I would pull with something like a suv. V8 in a car is good but what a bout the swinging about and so forth pulling it and tow load?

I just checked my email and the message I sent the seller came back as a failure. I suppose I could call him but what's the rush. I'm looking out my patio door at 6 inches of new snow.
Thanks for the tips.

Since I mentioned towing with my Lincoln, which I believe would be unwise at this time, would any size truck or SUV with at least a V6 be good enough? Something like an Explorer or Ranger. I have seen full size trucks with a V6 instead of a V8. What is the rule of thumb here?
Thanks

Some of the new suv's have some great v6 in them, but a lot of the time the gas mileage is the same as a V8 or take Premium only. Most chevy trucks do good but dont get a ram with a Hemi unless its a 08 or newer.
Mine only did 14mpg on the highway!

I asked myself the same question whether to go with a 6 or 8 cylinder truck. It had to be a full size truck one with room for the kids (extended cab) and plenty of room in the bed for hauling. I'm partial towards GM and I could not find a truck that size (extended cab) with a V6, plenty of them were available with a standard cab but not one with an extended cab. Originally I too wanted the better fuel mileage of the V6 but after my search I found a 2003 Chevy Silverado Ext cab that powered by a 4.8L V8, I believe its something like 295cu inch. and 295HP. well I was amazed to see that it got on average 20 mpg. I'm glad I went with 4.8L V8, plenty of power, built for hauling and great fuel mileage to boot.

Woody, my boss has a 2005 Chevy full size crew cab, you know the 4-door option. It's got the 5.3 V-8, and he still gets about 19-20 mpg.
I'm hoping to get one myself in the next year or so. If all goes as planned.
