Default I hate this -

Cutting the grass. Mowing the lawn. However you say it, it means the same thing - spring is here, the grass has grown, now it's time that it gets mown. Thankfully I have a small yard, otherwise I would have to invest in a lawn service but I can waste an hour of my time, once a week, to save paying someone else to do it. But I still detest doing it, maybe it will rain...

We have two acres and it takes about 2.5 - 3 hours. Gonna have to seriously think about down-sizing! With the father-in-law in such poor health and the hubby gone so much, it will mostly fall on me this year. I do NOT look forward to this chore.

Boy you hit the nail on the head. I stopped today for gas for the mower. I hate this day-the first day I cut grass for the next 7 or 8 months. I have a small yard to but it's still a pain in the butt. First chore is to pick up all the land mines the dog leaves. Which i do all the time anyway. Then move all the other crap that needs moved. Then cut and empty the catcher 3 times. Drat the sun just came out.

Think positive. Lawn mowing season is fishing season for the most part.

Hey, that'll make the grass grow even higher.

I actually enjoy yard work like mowing & raking, but I probably have another 3-4 weeks until my mowing season begins...maybe longer up at our cabin yard. Like Marty said, though, mowing season basically means fishing season for me. Bring it on!

(I like doing snow removal work, too. )

I wouldn't say I enjoy it.
I got like a 1/4 acre yard and a 1/2 acre field.
Field I use the Craftsman Rider and a propelled walk behind for the yard.
But I don't really hate it either.

This is my challenge.
Weed and feed. I don't want the 'FEED'.
We get creeping charlie around here and it's a DEMON WEED!
The with feed has an ing. that helps but wet applications are best.
No way, No how am I running a hose back there.
Got a couple old guys who chip from their back yards to the field.
One guy is 83 and competes in the Senior Tourneys that come to the State.

But I'm no where near cutting.
We got fluking snow in the forcast again this week.

I used to keep a well manicured yard, then the kids came and it has fell to the waist side. I had a guy mowing it the past couple of years though. It is 2 acres and he was only charging $50, so I considered it a heck of a deal. He did a fair job, but would never follow the contours like I liked it. Yeah, I am pretty particular about the yard. But now that the kids are older, I am getting back in to it and trying to get everything back in place. It's no Miagi status, but every little bit counts. A few more thousand square feet of tilling and sprinkling centipede should have me going in the right direction.

+1 I actually do some of my best thinking/problem solving while riding the mower around. A perfect summer day for me is 6a til 3p in the boat then come home and spend the afternoon mowing weed-eating-gardening-grilling and finish the day with a little "indoor recreation"

I have a fairly small yard that takes about 45 minutes to mow. I don't mind it, especially early in the season. It feels good to get back out and do it after the long winter. So far, I probably won't mow for a couple weeks yet. The grass is just starting to grow, and with all the rain we have been getting, my yard looks like a swamp. I have a couple boys and a wife who all share in the mowing duties, so it doesn't all fall on me, which is good since my knees are about shot.

I've got a half acre to mow, starting this weekend. I don't mind too much as it's probably the only exercise I get walking behind the mower. That is other than fishing!

I mowed last Thursday. It really could've been cut again Monday.
I hate yardwork.

I've got a 1/3 acre corner lot and I hate mowing. Got mine done before the t-storms/rain today. I think I can actually sit out back watch it grow.......
