Baitmonkey Bit me hard today.
So yea the bait monkey bit me on the way to the bank today, and i decided to run out to The local bass pro shops (first time out there) and see what i could Pick up for 2009.
So i took out 425.00 at the bank and i walked out with Reel- Pflueger patriarch bait caster in the 6:4:1 gear ratio *11 ball bearings* (picture) Cost of reel $199.00 Rod-St. croix MOJO bass FAST ACTION Jerkbait/Topwater 6' 6" Medium 10-17 1/4 - 5/8 $89.99 I thought i was done until the monkey came from behind while walking towards the door and bit me again, this time i picked up the 3 disc KVD Dvd set. proven spinnerbait techniques pitch'n heavy hitters Changing condictions The monkey wasn't finished~ I than picked up the Woo daves 3 Disc DVD A bass Fishing Mouse pad (god don't ask me why it looked cool) Some Spike-it marker pen Orange/yellow spike-it Blue garlic Dye, 1 lucky craft pointer 100, and after ordering 1 large pizza, and a order of Kickers from Domino's ive found myself watching this awesome Video collection. and the price was only 14.95 for 3 DVD and i'm not even into the 2nd part of disc one, So much information on spinner baits, I'm wanting to watch it over before going to the next chapter. Blah blah.... anyways enough of me talking I'm going back to my DVD

I've learned about buying good reels, most $100.00 dollar reels will work great for years for most techniques. My high speed cranking technique took out two reels in one season including a phlueger, only 5 or so bearings. At 10 to 11 seconds a cast the technique puts years of abuse on a reel in a very short time. The one I still use for the technique is a rick clunn model from bass pro shops, 8 bearings I think and is starting to show some wear.

Tru-Tungsten
Yeah Doc, You can't go wrong with TT. I swear by those Force Beads, they clack real nice on a TT weight and they are magnetized which elicits strikes As a matter of fact, it worked today.I started with a Berkley 6" hand pour worm drop rigged-no hits in an hour of fishin'.Put on a 3 1/2 Yum Tube Sunfish color with a TT 1/8 bullet and an 8mm Force bead. Three bass later and HookSEt on 3 is happy as a clam
