i throw mine spinnerbaits on a 6' 6" medium action Quantum IM7 Rod, teamed with a Qunatum Tenacity Baitcasting reel with a 6.2:1 ratio, and on 14 lb. Trilene XT.

i throw spinnerbaits with a falcon lowrider 6'6'' medium, bass pro shops pro qualifier 6.3:1 baitcaster, and 15lb green trilene. i say go with a good reel and a falcon rod, then buy yourself some baits and maybe even another combo. get expensive rods for techniques that require sensitivity like jig fishing or worm fishing. bass hit spinnerbaits so hard, and they dont care what rod or reel that you are using

I use a Team Daiwa 153HST on an Allstar Spinnerbait rod. A BPS Extreme is a good reel, too.

I like a Revo STX for spinnerbaits, and I agree with Skeeter on the rod, but still get a good one, sensitivity isn't everything

Well I've found that my Shimano Castaic works perfect for me. I pitch spinnerbaits alot under docks, and around trees. And the thumbar allows me to engage the reel immediately with only one hand. And I've found no problems with casting a country mile with them at any given moment.

a high speed, high capacity reel should do the trick...too bad I dont have one rofl. I guess I am weird, I like a fast 7' mh with 12 lb fluoro...whatever
