Snook Report, 9/2/07 Tomoka River
Yeah I know it aint bass rotfl. But since 9/1/07 was opening day, and I had to work, I went today. Hit the water at 6:15am and by 11:30am had landed 9 shorts, with big momma being lost after about a 2 minute fight All but 2 came on a Mirror Lure Suspending twitch bait worked fast around cover, mostly wood, and some grass. The other 2 came on a Gulp Shrimp, color Molting, with one of Dampeoples shakey head hooks. The big momma was probably was only a minute if I thought it was 2 minutes rotfl. I did see the head come out of the water on the intial hookup, and she was a biggun, then "SCREEMING REELS" Then my freind showed up, so I had to change strategies, especially fishing from my boat with 2 people. Anyways, he caught a short on a popper and I lost another couple of shorts near the boat. Then the weather hit, and he wanted off So I fished for another couple of hours by myself, with 3 more shorts being boated. The largest boated snook was 24", which was a nice fight.
Lizards 12, Snook 6 or so The weather then really turned bad, with serious black clouds, wind and heavy duty lightning, so I got off the water at 3:15pm. Now my dilemma is do I go back out for Snook again tommorrow since I'm off for the holiday, or do I go to the Hawg Hole and look for another double digit bass Ahh decisions, decisions LOL. At least I'm gonna be fishing 2 days in a row, no matter what Lizards
