what kind of knot do you use to tie line on your reel.

also,i heard you should tie a little bit of mono on then tie you braid to that.i think the person said it helps with keeping the braid from slipping.is this true?

Vic dunaway uni. I do use a mono backing on my reels to keep the braid from slipping.

The only time I use mono as backing for my braid is for my reels that don't have the drilled holes in the spools. I just run my braid through the holes and don't tie a knot and leave the clutch engaged. I had a bad experience once w/ a rod on the deck of the boat. The lure snagged a limb and took it overboard. Can't remember which pro I heard this happened to aswell. But incase it ever happens again, the lure will snag and strip all the line out and then it just comes free of the spool and save myself some $$. I know, why don't you just keep your rods nice and neat in the boat.......well, I get kinda crazy and have crap laying everywhere during a tourney. lol

Just a simple overhand knot. No bass will spool you so you will never get down to where the knot can become a factor.

I just tie a slip knot. Easy to get off and easy to put on.

I use the arbor knot. It is basically an overhand knot on the arbor with an overhand in the tag end which just cinches down enough to put the line on.
