Default Help Catching Fish

I am new to this site , and fairly new to fishing. I have alot of artificial bait. Nothing seems to work , it doesnt matter if I wiggle my worm , reel it in , carolina rig it , or just let it lay there. No Berkly Gulp works for me either , I have 4 packages , all differant collors. 1 Lizzard , 1 Weedless Frog , Strike king Jigs , Culprit Worms , and Shad , and top water lures. NOTHING !! It gets hot during the days here in Southern Indiana , averaging 90 degrees , I mostly fish evenings after work , 5pm till when I give up and admit bass are smarter than me... My Wife uses live bait and catches alot of bluegill , but I want bass.. Help me out fella's... I really dont want to use live bait , it doesnt seem as rewarding when I catch one..

Default top water

go top water, hulapoppers, floating rapalas, black jitterbug. and some jerkbaits. fish em fast, and fish em slow, fish em twitch, fish em twitch and go and just let em sit for a spell. if i was stuck, and i am time to time, fish slowly and dont be in a hurry to reel your lure back. quality casts is better than quanity. now there are gonna be other opinions on this subject, mine aint the best, filter through all of em and develop something that will work for you. patience..and persistence will produce fish.

Throw the lizards weightless around any cover you can find. Topwater later as the sun gets lower would be good. One thing that I would suggest is a spinnerbait. Also don't be afraid to take one of those Bluegills your wife is catching, and use it for bait. Use one of the smaller ones though. Southern IN has some good fishing IMO.

Try the brekly gulp sinking minnow. Green pumpkin sead works best for me. Rig it wacky and let if fall. If you dont get a bite on the fall, twitch it while u reel in. This works great for me hear in Iowa.

Thank you for all the info. I did have some luck this morning at our city lake ( everyone fishes it ) nobody this morning though , 10' off the shore with berkly gulp worms , punkinseed , and the green one ? anyway I had them wacky rigged and nabbed four , the biggest was 14.5 " dont know the weight , not real heavy. The other two werent much smaller than that , it was sunny , 78 degrees with a light NE breeze...

well, just get out there and fish as much as you can. i went earlier for 10 minutes and caught a 14'' spotted bass with a weightless trick worm in watermelonseed. just keep fishing and it will come. also, just use one or two different lures or baits and learn them . later on in your fishing career ,these will probably be your go to baits.
