Default Really hot water

Usally when I go fishing in Florida, I only have about an hour of fishing before it gets really hot. Everyone I have talked to says try using a worm really slow but I tried even letting the worm sit from 2-25 seconds but bass really dont bite it.Is their any other lures that will work good for really hot weather?

Remember, the air temp has a much bigger effect on you that it does the fish. If a worm isn't working, try something else. You may have to try several baits until you find what the fish want. Don't be afraid to experiment, and sometimes you have to force yourself to try something new. Other lures that will work? Went out this morning and caught 3-one on a watermelonseed Yum Dinger, one on a copper/gold bade spinnerbait, and one on a watermelonseed french fry(not the kind you eat ) fished on a Carolina rig. My buddy Flyrod got 7-a couple on topwaters and the rest on a Texas rigged curl tail grub and if I remember right on a wacky rigged 4" Tiki Stick. My point is we caught fish on 6 different baits. We kept changing until we found what the fish wanted, and even then it wasn't just one bait.

Another thing to keep in mind is bass may be jumping all over a bait one day and won't give the same bait a second look the next. It really boils down to trial and error. The only way to see if a bait will work is to throw it. That's why they call it fishing and not catching .

Well I just got back, and what I learned was that sometimes conventional knowledge is wrong. During the day the water temps hovered between 85 and 92 degrees, yet I found most all of my fish in 1.5-3 foot of water and I was triggering them by fishing spinnerbaits fast. Not waking them mind you, but fast. I found that the ones with more vibration and flash did better, like colorodo/indiana tandemns with either gold or painted white blades. Oh, and I didn't catch 1 fish in two weeks on the texas rigged worm. Flipping or otherwise. I would have never thought that in a million years, but it happened.

That's the one to fish-the one off the beaten track. As far as it holding fish-only one way to find out.
