All Star question
I went to Dick's to get a St. Croix spinning rod yesterday. I had a 20% off coupon with me. When I got there I started to look at all the goodies. I came across some All Star Pro II rods. They were marked down from $59 to $19.99. Well, I debaited and choose to buy two of them and a President spinning reel for $59. with a small bag of zoom worms the total with discount was around $96. The rods were both 6'6". one was light and one med. heavy. They seemed like good rods. My question is I haven't read anything about the rods. Anyone use them? How would you rate them?

Re: All Star question
Bob, all I use are AllStar rods. I like the Classics, but they are fantastic rods. For that price I'd say you got a great deal.

Re: All Star question
I paid 50 something dollars for an allstar proII 3 years ago and it is still one of my favorite rods. Its not on par of course with the more expensive allstars, but getting a couple for 19 bucks....well that makes me sick....

Re: All Star question
Good deal. I love All Star rods, think I have 9 of them. All of them are good. But, my best All Stars are the T series. You can't beat the lifetime warrenty. I have broken several, and they have always fixed/replaced them for me..no questions asked. 8)

Re: All Star question
BassinBob, I have an All star Pro II rod, I bought at Walmart a few years ago.Mine is the same 786 blank that my WR1 classic rod has but the guides are a cheaper grade than the classic series, but I haven't had any trouble with them. The action is a little lighter also but they vary from rod to rod anyway.P N J

Re: All Star question
I have an All Star Pro II that a buddy gave me because it's a baitcasting rod. A couple of guides were missing so I'm in the process of taking them off and replacing them. I just noticed last weekend that my local Dick's carried a few All Star Rod's most of them Pro II's. I'm going to go today and see if they have them on sale as well and pick up a couple.

Re: All Star question
Well, so far no negative comments. I guess I made an alright buy. Thanks for the good words. Can't wait to try them out.
