Default powerpro questions

i just bought power pro for the first time and i was wondering what size line should i use for backing when the pp diameter is that of 10 lb mono

and how much backing should i put on the spool

i thought it was about time i tried this power pro stuff i got the 40 lb test in moss green

THANKS

Christopher-I use 50. 12 lb mono diameter.

BK, you don't need a lot-just enough to get it to bite on the reel, but the easiest thing to do is just tape the end to the spool. Saves having to tie a couple of knots-just stick it on and fill 'er up.

BK, don't take off all the line you have on it now, just take off enough until you have it down to 1/2 the spool. This way don't have to spool up any thing but the Powerpro.

i had one reel that just wouldnt take power pro, a 5500 C3 garcia..put it on with backing and it still was being dumb. i'd just throw on enough mono to get the power pro to dig in. i have a buddy who runs 65 lb PP for froggin, he just runs it straight with no backing and doesnt have problems.
