My father and I are going fishing tommorow. It has recently rained alot here in Ohio and I was wonder what kind of lure I should throw. Advice is highly appreciated.

The heavy rains may have muddied up the water and reduced visabilty. I would try using brightly colored lures, and lures that have a sound chamber in them. A large white tandom spinner would be an excellent choice as they can be fished slow and definately have flash and sound for bass to home in on. Or try a deep diving crankbait that rattles. You may be able to get away from the worst of the discolored water that way. Get in close and keep your lures inside the strike zone.

same as i would the day it rained.. it takes about 2 days to get all the water colored up..-time may vary due to lake size,flow,- but when it is to thick to drink and too thin to plow.. this moves the fish super tight to structure..fish your baits tight to struture..

Would a lizard be better then a plastic worm in this situation?

buzzbaits, buzzbaits, buzzbaits. Frog and just about any topwater.
Throw them in the newly flood brush, and throw super shallow and work deep. I'd personally throw a spinner bait, if its cloudy then a single colorado or indian and if it's bright then tamdem col/willow. I think you'll find a fluke to suit your needs on this outting also, I opt for pink but that is just me. |

I'd try various spinnerbaits and jigs.

One lure that works well for me after a heavy rain:
"Oh, you poor dear. Come to my place and I'll pour you a nice drink and get you out of those wet things." Well, you DID ask. FR |

After coloration has begun, concentrate some of your efforts on the mouths of any incomming streams, also washes or depressions in the land where the water is washing or has washed in some new food. If mudlines form, fish those carefully as well. Due to temperature variations, you sometimes get little clear or more lightly stained areas that deserve attention as well.
