Default I am gettin a boat!

It is a 2006 Bass Tracker Pro Team 170 TX. I am paying for it myself too! It will have a 9.9 outboard, due to motor restrictions. It has a 46 lb thrust TM, in future I will have a 101 Minnkota. It comes with Lowrance x37 Fishfinder on console, with swivel, later in the future, I will have a bow mounted fish finder. Has Takle Storage under seats, and in front deck. 6ft 6in Rod Lockers, 18 gal livewell, 2 fishing seats on the decks. Also was thinking of a Hot Foot I belive they are called, where you can use your foot to control speed? In the distant future. I am so excited and cannot wait to get it, most likely in the next 2 or so weeks we will go get it.

Congratulations PB. sounds like a nice rig. One suggestion, I wouldn't get a Hotfoot if your only running a 9.9. Just my opinion.

9.9 with a hot foot -lmao- no man a hot foot is more of a high powered boats thing. -i anit sure they even make it for a small 9.9 moter. be kinda like hooking up a hand thottle on a gerbils spinning wheel..imo..

nice set up though.. personally i would go with a bigger moter.. by that is just me..

But if you go with a bigger engine then he's gotta register it which would mean it couldn't be registered in his name I believe!

I'm guessing being 17'( I'm assuming due to the 170), he's gonna have to register it anyways if he wants to fish on any public waters. I don't beleive he has to have someone else on title, he's got a drivers license, so he can register a vehicle, just like a boat.

I went wih tthe small engine because our resiviors have a 9.9 maximum restriciton. They are both substantial bodies of water also, 2,000+ acres each one

No they dont make a hotfoot for a 9.9 and for that matter dont think one for a 50hp. The idea behind the hotfoot os controlling the boat at high speeds and a 17ft tracker with a 50 will run around 31 or 32mph. Great boat though for a first boat. I dont know of any state that if you fish in public waters the boar doesnt have to be registered. Any motored vessle has to have regis. #'s.

Its been 6 years since I lived up in Pa. and used to fish N.J. all the time. Right off the top of my head I didnt remeber if it was Pa.,N.J., or Missouri where you also had to register the motor as well. By the way due you still have to obtain a operator's license in N.J.???? In fact now that I am thinking bout it it was Missouri I beleive and you even registered the trolling motor. Now this was a few years back remember.

any boat powered by anything other than oars must be registered in N.J...you must also have a boat operators license AND new law you must take a boater safety course and carry in your possession a certificate that you have successfully passed a boater safety course...no,the motor does not have to be registered, but our illustrious governor is looking for ways to make up a huge deficit so that may be down the pike.

BT,

Is there a waiver for age on the boater safety issue? For hunting in most states that I've hunted, there is a required huters certification, only if you were born after like 1975 or something like that. I haven't had to worry about it due to being so old. In other words are all the pros getting them if they fish a tourney? Or would a out of stater get a ticket for this if he came to town to fish, and didn't have it?

there is some kind of grandfather clause but exactly what it is ...i have no idea..they talk about it at http://njbassanglers.com/index.php .then again the governor has a huge deficit he has to cover so anything goes in jersey,he'll find a way to make us pay..soon he'll be taxing s**...won't get much $$ from me...lmao!
