Default rod selection

i started upgrading my rods and bought some used ones as a package deal,i need some help on which tehniques i can use this rod for.

shimano crucial 6'6 10-20lb med heavy extra fast 3/8 to 1oz
shimano convergence 7'0 12-25lb heavy fast 3/8 1-1/2 oz
shimano clarus 7'0 12-20lb medium heavy fast 1/4 to 1oz
st croix premier 7'0 10-17lb medium fast 1/4 to 3/4oz

any of you guys have one of this rods let me know what you think and thanks in advance and enjoy your weekend.by the way this rods are all baitcasting rods.

The simplest thing for you to do is to go to Shimano's web page, download the pdf version of their catalog (it's free) and review the rod section. The rod section of the catalog will tell you the applications these rods are best suited for according to the horse's mouth.

You can probably do the same for the St. Croix.

You have a pretty solid arsenal BTW. I also have a crucial, and a clarus, but different models.

You probably need to experiment around a little with them, but based on the information you gave in the same order as you listed the rods I would start with this
jig (pitching/casting)
jig/carolina rig (pitching/flipping)
worm Rod
crankbaits or spinnerbaits.
Those would be starting points for me anyway untill I found how they did and adjust accordingly.

been on the water three times now with these rods and so far these are the set up that i have been using.

top water
jigs
crankbait
texas rig/carolina

but this last trip seems that i like the clarus for feeling the bottom so i agree with you basstech,so i will switch the two bottom on the list.thanks guys!!!!
