Default Dont Trust No One

Well I had a BAD WEEK. Went to get a buynch of my rods out this last weekend....the ones that I would use for split shotting and drop shotting and all my kids rods and they were GONE. I had stole 14 rods and reels all the way from a GLoomis ($325) right down to a shakespere Intrepid rod with titanium guides on it. The approx. cost is around $1300. Talk about PO'D. Called the local cops and all they said was "well we can keep an eye out but..........." Real good cops we got down there. Called every pawn shop within a 50 mile radius but so far no luck. I am gonna be in the market for some rods for my kids. They or we lost all there rods and I need to get them a couple cause the season is right around the corner. If anyone has any in expensive rods and reels they wanna part with please give me a holler I gotta get them something together REAL quick and dont have the funds to by new right now. Looking for 6' to 6'6" Medium heavy rods and low profile reels. Shipping would be to Flippin Arkansas. So ifn ya have anything please give me a holler. Thanks folks

I had the boat in a slip at Big Bear on Ky. Lake, all the insurance wanted was a copy of the police report to compare what value I told them the rods were, the make and model, then 4 days later I got a check (less 250 deductable)..I figured I had 5 rods that were worth 1500 and I got a check for 1250..
I heard from others in my bass club that their insurance paid them to, but didn't give much for tacklebox/contents..good luck to ya!

I am staying in a travel trailer in crossett arkansas where I work and the family lives in Flippin. Anyways the travel trailer we have right next to his mom and dads old house trailer. We use that for storage and thats where they come up stolen from. I have a call into my insurance man but I have my doubts.

Laser, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I had something similar - at least on a scale to me - happen last year. Fishing is a special pursuit; while there is a lot of skill involved there is also an element of luck or even mysticism involved. Perhaps if this world is just and governed by a simple fisherman, then anyone who would steal another man's tackle should be sentenced to years of empty creels. Unfortunatly I can't say whether or not that is fact or wish on my behalf. But do know that there have been many people who have been in your shoes, and they feel the same way.

Well I shoulda read the fine print on my insurance. I guess if I was a dishonest man I coulda told them the rods and reels where stole on my property and they woulda covered it. Well not only am I looking for another or better insurance company I also upped my coverage on my boat. If something like this happenes again I will be covered in ay event. Hopefully this wont be the case.
