Default trade in value

im thinking about maybe this spring getting me a new boat....i have a 1995 javelin 350A its 15'6" with a 48 johnson on it.....how much should i expect to get for it if i deciede to use it as a trade in on a new boat....i bought the boat last yr for $4700...there is nothing wrong with it...and it starts up and runs just fine.... i just want to upgrade to a boat that is 17'-18' and with a back deck and a bigger front deck and bigger motor ......thanks weidner21

Default Trade In Value ?

Hard to say, grab a boat trader magazine and compare with similar year make and models....bare in mind dealerships may give more in some cases than what you can get on the street, but not always. If it's really clean, and the motor is in extremely good shape, I'd guess it's street value is about 3,500 to 3,800. But that's just a guess.
Be prepared to be disappointed at the dealerships though, some like to play hard ball on trades....they'll try to tell you it's going to be hard to get rid of it...yada yada yada.....Do yourself a favor and research it further.
Good Luck Buddy.

Yeah, I'm from california (living in Houston) I would have to agree with zooker, there in Indiana your not going to get what its worth in some other places. Location does have an impact on your price. I sold a 1976 15' trihull in california for 2500.00 with a 75 hp johnson 8 yrs ago, and it wasn't very pretty either. But, good luck anyway.
