Default Here's and idea.

I was recently reading an article in the Sept/Oct issue of Bass Master magazine about slow sink jigs. These are jigs with near zero gravity that sink extremely slowly. That got me to thinking. Lure manufacturers, listen up! Why not develope a near zero gravity buzz bait? Many of us prefer to work a buzzbait as slow as we can keep it moving without sinking. If the buzzbait head design was used that was either floating or near zero gravitry, that would allow for a very slow retrieve. I know there are surface baits that float which have a prop to do this sort of thing, but I'm talking about the conventional buzzbait design which would not involve a large body. If it can be done with a jig, maybe it can be done with a bizzbait. The one thing I think that would have to be done woould be to eliminate the standard wire design which puts the blade above the buzzbaits head. That probably wouldn't work with a floating or near zero designed head. Instead, it would probably require an inline wire design used on spinners like Mepps and Roostertail. I think I'm gonna get started working on this idea here at home.

All you need to do is attach outriggers to the upper part of the blade. A paper clip and a couple foam ear plugs shoud do it...............

Now why didn't I think of that? Only you Bruce, only you. Oh, and maybe NFE.

Got to have some weight to it to be able to cast it and also keep the blade from flipping over......but I like the idea.

I use a big four blade plastic propeller on mine. Slows the bait down a lot compared to a two blade metal propeller.

There already is one. It's called the top prop. It's a prop shaped floating plastic bulb on an inline spiner configuration. The bulb spins while the trailer hook has a pulsating currly tail grub on it. I use the heck out of the top prop baits in very weedy areas or around pads. I can let it float in place and give it small tugs or fish it fast.

Thats in the same general realm of what I'm thinking but not exactly. I'm still wanting to use the standard blade style of a normal buzzbait. Figuring this out should be fun. lol

Obviously can't throw this in heavy cover but...............very effective around the edges of it. Super slow and it will float and hook up ratio off the charts.Click image for larger version

The Heddon Sputterbuzz can be used like a floating buzzbait, it has weedless trebles also.
