I think BPS sell a weight kit for balancing your rod/reel, but my suggestion would be to go buy a new rod or reel that will balance with what you already have, or perhaps a new combo.

Nick,

Even cheaper would be to get some lead strips and balance your rod yourself. Most sporting goods stores have them. BPS does sell a balance kit as well. One kit they offer is specifically designed for one of their rods but they do have another kit that can be applied across the board.

NICK,

Â* Â* Go to a hardware store and buy a rubber crutch tip that will fit over the handle of your rod. Also buy 6 or 8 washers that will fit into the inside of the crutch tip. Start with 4 or 5 washers in the tip and slip the tip on the handle of your rod. Try the balance. This should tell you if you need more or less washers. Works the same as the BPS balance kit and is a lot cheaper.

Also try your local Golf shop. Shey usually sell Lead Tape. I used to use it all the time on my club heads before they started making everything with heavy bottoms. LOL

next time you get a casting rod get a combo where the rod and reel were specifically made for eachother. I've got the BPS extreme combo and the balance is dead on.

I think the balance system is a crock of sh*t.Who wants to add more weight to their equipment ?It may very well be how you are holding it. wrap two fingers before the trigger and two after the trigger and rest your thumb on the reel.People think that if they hold on to the reel and have their index finger touch the line ,they will detect more strikes.I have found that it does not help you ,I think it robs the feel of the bite because you are gripping the reel tighter to keep control of the outfit you cannot feel the bite as well as you would if your hand were relaxed a little bit.I hope this helps you catch more fish. ;D P N J
