Wow... I hope you saved the box, because the card was placed into the box. From what you describe, my guess is that the gift card is still in the box wedged along the sides or something to that effect. The box was packaged in a larger envelope, did the contents look pilfered in anyway or was everything intact? Let me know.

your guess was correct.

The gift card was the exact shape and size of the side of the box.

It got wedged sideways and appeared to be the box itself.

Thanks Again

I will be able to order that new rod now..

Heading out again this week. Hopefully I will have some 23" plus fish to post...

Hey great fish Jim. We went back to that spot with shiners, hoping you released her there! But I suspect she has a new home now!

Capt Jim,

That's one heck of a Hawg you weighed in, CONGRATULATIONS! That's really a sweet bass. I'm posting it here, because the weigh in thread is supposed to be for weigh in's only, not discussions. But I wanted to say what a great fish that is. Keep catching em.

Well that makes that crank well worth the $15 you spent on it.

Yes, but that is a function of the weather. When it warms up I can compete with yall if I am on about 2 or 3 lakes in this state. In fact, if we go back and look at all of Kevin's big bass tourneys this past year, I think Bama (and yours truly was the angler) is the only other state that had a big bass winner for a quarter. All the rest were hatched in Florida I think.

come on wtl, you can't blame cool temps, it was in the 40's when I caught my hawg........twice. and I wasn't trying to discredit you or alabama's waters, just poking fun.

Zook, you know its funny you said that.

The big bass I caught from the kissimmee chain last year was after the spawn...only it had to go up against Lizards' behemouth from earlier in the year. But I was catching fish post spawn in Florida, and a lot of their guys down there werent. I even had some guys fishing a big local tourney hitting me up for info on patterns, they decended on me in golf carts when I was cleaning the boat one day, said they had heard I was on the fish and wanted to know lures, spots, ect. What I told them was even though the water was nearing the 90s, go shallow, thats it.

Now as for the couple of fish I caught on Guntersville in late August, they really werent that huge...5 pounds if I recall correctly, but I only hit G'ville 3 times last year and did pretty good those times. I hit Kissimmee 16 times over 2 1/2 weeks. If I had as much time on G'ville, I could put up Florida numbers for sure. Hell part of the problem is that not only is Florida a good state, but this site has so many anglers representing Florida, Lizards, Hula, Rob, FLFireman, Bateman, Capt Jim...and Bama is really only represented by myself, Cali only has a couple guys, Texas has a couple...Mexico has one dude...and NC and Jersey have good anglers but not the trophy LM lakes.

Hey WTL, saw your posts in the weigh in thread. It's true that we FL bass anglers have an advantage over most others on this forum. More lakes, closer to home, warmer temps, faster growing bass, etc. I'd hate to have to compete against you in our backyard . But you are representing AL well! Keep up the good fishing reports. We like seeing others catching big bass as well!

Florida could be so much better if we had the deep water like Cali, or, the serverely underfished lakes of Mexico. Lake Okeechobee would have some California sized monsters in it if it werent for the fact that its only 14' deep.
