a bass question
while i was inside. i had a LOT of time to watch fishing in tv..
one show struck me as weird and forces this question.. they were fishin in the LA river delta-go figure-catching bass with golf ball sized white spots which they called "calico bass".. now are these beast a tidal form of largemouth or are they a form of sea bass? come on lefty coasters prove you is "a smert in" zooker

Zook, those are a saltwater type. They have a close relative, called the Sand Bass, with a more striped pattern. The calicos have really cool blood red eyes. They pretty much go for the same baits and tricks (jigs, live bait, shiny spoons) as the freshwater guys, though I don't think they are closely related.
