Default Brrrrrrrrrrrr Need encouragement.

Well, not really, but maybe. lol Actually, I'm rigged and ready to go. But we had rain mixed with sleet yesterday, and COLD today. Tomorrow morning is only going to be 32 degrees. But the way I figure, mid to late fall bassin can be the best bassin of the year, and I probably won't have much company out there either. But I'm planning to head out in the morning, although not that extra early morning stuff. Probably around 7AM. Lures ready to rock and roll are a Strike King spinnerbait, Yo-Zuri Rattl.n Vibe lipless crank, jig n craw...one of Anthonys jigs, Spro McStick, Spro frog, Strike King series 5 crankbait, and one of Bruces bladed swim jigs. Can't wait to get out there. But wish it was a bit warmer! If the McStick isn't getting much action, I will quickly replace it with a LC 2.5 square bill crank in American shad. Ohhhh, and by the way...GO IRISH!!!!

That's what I was getting ready to say to you, because you know before to long you will be in sub-zero temps with snow and only wishin' you were fishin' so might at well get it in while you can! Good luck brother and let us know how you fair out there. Don't forget drinking water you can dehydrate just as fast in the cold as you can in the heat!

Walker and I got out for a few hours this afternoon without much luck. He caught one on a jig. It dipped down to about 54 here today, we were still in the 90's a few days ago.

Good luck tomorrow Keith. I bet you will find some active fish, they know it's about to get cold too.

Well, it's 32 here this morning at 8:00 am. Normally i would be on the water at sun up , but this morning I'm gonna wait a bit longer and let it warm up some. I'm headed to a little private pond today and the owner told me that no one has fished it in the last 2 months, so maybe the big girls will be ready to dance. Temps are supossed to be warming up to 60, so I'm thinking about going in about one more hour or so. BRRRRR

Well, it was cold and windy, but I was able to land 9 bass today. Most were fairly small, but this one was the biggest of the day. I figure close to 4 pounds. I caught it on one the spinnerbaits I make. Of the 9 I caught, 6 were taken on spinnerbaits, while the other 3 were taken on various crankbaits. I had 7 rigs ready to go, but if I get out again this week, it's down to just the two. Nothing else even so much is getting a hit. I thought I might find some sows in the shallow pads and grass beds, but all the fish I took were in water 6-9 foot deep around submerged grassbeds or brush. Some hit hard while others left you suprised there was a bass on the line. Overall, it wasn't too bad a day after all.

Cold and windy all day. The sun finally put in an appearance around noon. One keeper of 16 1/2 inches that went 2.7lbs. About 6-7 dinks and about 30 white bass. A few on shallow cranks most on 6XDs. A few on a C-rig. Very tough day, all in all.

It's a 12 foot Jonboat. Kinda small, lol but wider than a normal jon.

I couldn't get anything off a deep diving crank suprisingly. I was throwing a series 6 with no luck. Switched to shallow sqarebills and started getting a few.

We hit the shallows pretty hard early and and in the afternoon and got a few of the dinks. 64 to 67 degree surface temp. The majority of the bigger fish seemed to be hanging with the bait (and the wipers) in 14-25 feet of water according to the sonar. The 2.7 came out of about 8-10 feet "digging" a 6XD across the flat toward the drop. That was the only decent fish that was up there evidently. We picked it apart for a long time.

Going to try to get out Saturday. First good cold front here so they may be starting to school up. We'll see!
