I can't be the only one who think Gander mountain is far superior to BPS, can I?

Ehhhhh...depends on how you rate it.
As far as selection goes, BPS wins hands down. And the web site is much better.
Gander does have a lot of good sales at my local one though. A lot of em unadvertised. Which is why my fishing OCD kicks in, every single time I'm in town.

Haha. It'd take one heckuva sale to get you to go eh? Seems odd that the nearest is so far away from you.
I'm 30 minutes away from one, yet over 3 hours from BPS or Cabelas.
I'm so glad Gander set up shop here a few years ago!

I am not too close to any of the actual stores.
Dicks does not carry any fishing or hunting in southern Cali.

BPS is about 2 hours away and Cabelas is 6 hours from me.

I do all of my shopping on line or through the mom and pop's stores.

I do a ton of my shopping online. Mostly just baits on sale at Gander

I love going to gander mountain! Every time I go in there, I buy something. They have great deals. Just last week I found a set of Ardent Smart Cull Tags for $23... they also accept Dicks Sporting Goods coupons... 10 off 25 or 10 off 50.

I really like Gander Mountain and they do have good deals throughout the year. But I'd like to pass on a warning. Not sure if this is common at other Gander stores or not, but I shop at the one in Merrilville IN. The last three trips I've made to that store, I have bought lures that were on sale. But each time, they tried to charge me the full price of a sale item. I've had to take the counter person to where the sign showed the item on sale. I'm getting rather fed up with that.

Good info, although it hasn't happened to me. Ever since I started browsing their red and green tag 1/2 off items a year ago, I've always known what they should be charging me when I check out. So far, no issues.

Ya, depends on what category you're talking about. Sales and stuff, gander wins, otherwise, as far as selection, I think BPS wins, and same with there house items.

As far as sales online, Cabelas hands down.

I went to the local Gander today and they only had a few odd crankbaits on sale, not much of anything else. I was also looking for a frog rod but the only rod in that category was a Mojo and I was looking for something else. They did have 2 Vendetta and 4 Skeet rods.
I did end up buying all of the small Spro crankbaits left, about a dozen. And a new Rapala Max Rap that I wish had been on sale. It looks a lot like an Ima Flit. And a bunch of other small things.

There's still some Spros left in Traverse. Wish they'd mark down some frogs

I stick with BPS and Cabellas... mostly because there is a BPS about 10 minutes away from my house so what I don't find in the store, I order online.

Keithdog I have the same problem with the local Dick's store with pricing. Dick's and Gander's here are about 5 minutes apart and neither have a great selection of crankbaits except for Rapalas.

I guess I've been lucky with the Gander here, as far as pricing. Never had something ring up wrong. In fact I've gotten a few great deals, like a new Falcon Cara jig and worm rod for $60, and a new Pflueger Supreme spinning reel for $35.
