Thank you. Black and white tree rats? Live near a nuclear facility?

Default Amen to that!

We have one that is 8 or 9, when he is gone that is it no more cats. He has and is a good one as far as cats go but my Horse, Dog and snakes are all I need for animals.

All these I have aren't really ours. They show up and eat the scraps we throw out. And since they've been around there's no problem with mice and very few snakes. So I figure why try to run them off.

Things learned about my new camera.
(1) Zoom shots are hit n miss at best with a point and shoot. Which I think the further away shots only look better through optical illusion due to the fact that subconsciously the mind expects less detail.

(2) Powerlines will sure mess up what could have otherwise been an awful pretty shot.

Ain't that the truth?

This is one of my once-in-a-lifetime shots. However, the stupid power line at the bottom left just kills me every time I look at it.

Now that's pretty Nofear! Someone other than you prolly wouldn't even notice the power lines. But I imagine, like me, even if someone else doesn't notice it, you know it's there; and that can just aggravate the snot out of you. lol

Bryce, I think it's more the camera that took the picture than the power line itself. (I know, it doesn't even make sense, but I had to get at least one Nikon bash in this post somewhere )

Seriously though, what power line? I don't see it.

Actually, it's a guy-wire, but it's attached to a utility pole, so potato-potato.

It's at the very bottom left, Anthony.

Oh LOL.....I get it...you Photoshopped it out haha.

Nice.

Windy out there tonight, but a pretty sky...

Straight out the camera (resized)

Software enhanced

Software enhanced and noise reduced

I think it looks better before I did anything to it.

Got any new shots Stick? I've enjoyed watching your progression. Out of curiosity, did the Canon P&S you got feature IS (that's image stablization, or VR, for you Nikon guys :P)?

Anyways, here's my latest. Playing with the lens my uncle let me borrow:

Any my new 100mm lens that happened to mounted when I ran inside to grab my camera for this spur of the moment sunset shot.

Anthony, I was wrong...it was still possible to hate you more!!

I love starlings!!! What a beautiful shot. So sharp. The depth of field is awesome too.

A bit of trivia...did you know starlings can be good talkers if kept as pets?

Thanks Bryce. The DOF and Bokeh are really nice on this lens. The bird is really separated from the background, and it was shot at f/5.6. Wide open at f/4 would be better as far as Bokeh goes, I think 5.6 is closer to the lens's sweet spot.

And no, I didn't know that. Too bad, there was about 500 billion of them in my front yard, I coulda caught you one!

Whats all that white stuff on the ground? You must live right next to a HUGE cotton field or something.

Here's a black squirrel. Not a great photo since I was shooting through the dirty window that my dogs jump on when trying to get the squirrels. Plus I'm trying to figure out my new camera:

Looks like a good shot to me, Bender!

Here are a couple of the black squirrel from up at our cabin in April, 2010. The little rascal wouldn't sit still long enough for me to get a decent shot or get close to him at all. These are with full zoom.

Looks like you've been busy -- very nice! I especially like the squirrel at 1:53 and the moon shots just before the 3:00 mark.

Stick, those moon shots look great!

And I like the black squirrels guys. We don't get any black ones around here.

No shots for my since my last bird shot... Maybe this weekend.
