Talking Trouble in Paradise

Ok your significant other is tired of all the fishing 'collectibles' we tend to accumulate!
They can live with the takle but the poles and reels need to be 'thinned out'.
Now I'm talking 'THINNED"!

Your allowed to keep ONE pole and ONE reel!
I repeat...!
Ok they said you can sell the rest and buy ONE more if you want, but price $500 or below for combination of the two.

Now if you wish you can state Brands but it really isn't necessary.
So remember though this setup is going to be your ONE and ONLY!
It will be used for where ever your fishing desires take you.

Spinning or bait-casting?
Heavy or light, how heavy or light?
Long or short?
Graphite or other?
You get the idea....I hope.

So which one you keeping or which one you getting?

So for those without a significant other.....your right or left hand (which evers your favorite) MAKES you!

That is the most prepostrous piece of fantasy you've proposed yet, Joe. My imagination will not stretch that far to even consider the possiblilty, even as a work of fiction. The result would obviously be that the "significant other" is no longer significant and be gone. That would be akin to asking the Sultan to thin out the harem.................

I am guessing that one of my better combos would go a long way towards paying for a good divorce lawyer.

If I can have only one, then I want the best and $500 is not going to get me there. I would keep my NRX 853 and the Core 100 that is on it. I don't think I could find anything close for $500.

You know I was going going to say 'divorce is not an option' but I got carried away with the hands and forgot.
So now I remember,

Divorce is not an option and if you insist....she got all but one pole and reel in the 'divorce stettlement'.
And did an 'Ugly Stick Comercial' on the rest!

There, I think I covered everyone!

Oh forgot.
Bruce, I know, it's GOING TO BE A LONG WINTER!
Bryce, Oko, I think I got you two covered !
Toney, Bob thanks. If you would, can you and all future anglers tell the folks what these are baitcasters or spinning outfits. I know but some may not.

For me it would be baitcasting, in the 7'-7'3" MH/F range. It would be hard to decide what combo I would keep.

I think the woman you married/will marry knows good and well that she could never even try to do that with our fishing stuff.

OR

I'm gonna miss her.

BUT- probably a 7ft (or little longer) mh NRX with a Revo on it.

A Pro Qualifier and a Lamiglass Excell rod. That leaves me about $275 for tackle...LOL

I think I would tell my significant other, " hey babe, let me show you where I'm storing all my fishing rods".
And if I was a whimp, it would be bait cast, 7' MH/F. Revo SX and St Croix Premier.

You know....I can't cover EVERY angle you anglers come up with!
But I'll certainly try!

Dave, further review of the rules...... won't sneak through!
Heck she let you KEEP the tackle you got...verdict, one rod one reel . Anything left gets donated to your local Boys and Girls Club.

I can accept that.

But they're trying to pull a Dillion, Tracker Boat Team deal though!
And just like Nascar feels, rules are rules!

Sounds like a dang format for a "Reality" TV Show...... I'll bet Roland would host it.

My wife has no idea how many fishing rods I have, she thinks I have three probably, one for me and two for the kids, and I intend to keep it that way.

Same here...Can't count how many times she's asked me "Isn't that a new rod/reel?" "What? This old thing? I've had this for a long time" Of course {long time} can be many many things......2 whole days or many years.

Like they don't do it to us...how many shoes, hand bags, or hats does a women need? So I don't push it, keep my mouth shut when I see the C.C., or bank statements, and I expect she does the same.
