Default Avg. Life of a plastic Toad?

how many fish on Avg. do you normally get on a plastic toad? i got some Black Magic Toads today (Gander MTN Guide Series) and they were $4 for 4 toads (Marked as 3 for 4 but did not bother to waste time for a dollar lol.) they seem pretty good as far as how long they will last. I LOVE the way they look when rigged. Yet to fish with them, they dont look like any other frog bait. i have got one bass on a frog bait (Sizmic toad) and it did not rip. Whats the Avg. life of one thanks.

like the Colors of these toads and the look, hope the action is nice and that the bass like em. i will leave a report on how they do.

bubba, sometimes they last pretty long. Sunday I caught 7 or 8 on one horny toad. Mind you they were dinks. Sometimes after 2 or 3 the toad will lose one of it's legs. This sunday I tried one of the Horny Toad hooks and it worked real good. It has the screw in wire instead of running a hook through the head of the toad. From now on I will use these hooks. Being that I haven't had as much luck with other brands I usually switch back to the toad before they rip.

the old fashioned tournament or scum frog last for years, however these trendy horny toads and others seem to hold up except the tears near the eyelet of the hook. I get anywhere from 1-3 bass on a toad before you either have to glue the rip or reposition the hook.
Some times the toad goes sailing through the air and off your line never to be found again, those are the best strikes!

Thanks, that what i thought, just like any other plastic.
About these Guide Series Toads (Black Magic) They are the BEST i have seen, as far as life like action on top and under the surface. I mean WOW. As real as these looked i should get allot of fish on them. I tested them at a small creek by my house (No Bass or anything but small sunfish). looked great you should give them a try.

if the fish weigh like 1-2.5 pounds then it could last for 7-8 fish but if they weigh from 3 up it might only last two or three

A keeper-style hook will allow more fish per bait. After the bait is torn up, I hold the torn parts over a candle flame to close up the tears and it's good enough to hold a hook and get another fish or two.

one toad I proabably got around 13 or so bass on it.....sometimes on slow days with all the wear and tear yah might have to change one out before a fish even takes one....depends really....sometime if I'm fishing brush I'll tear up some worms freeing snags and stuff and might have to put a new one on...
