Default Abu Garcia Workhouse Rods

The new Abu Garcia workhouse rods look like this on the chart:

SPINNING
5'0 UL
5'6 L
6'0 ML
6'0 M
6'6 M
7'0 M

CASTING
6'0 M
6'0 MH
6'6 M
6'6 MH
7'0 M

I'm not sure if you guys have ever heard anything about these rods, but I looking at them in this "Live To Fish" magazine. They have a great product catalog in the back part of the magazine. The Spinning Rods are $30.00, and the casting are $35.00. There very good looking rods and I would love to get one. Abu Garcia is my favorite reeling company by far. And now that they're making rods, makes them twice as good.

Has anyone heard of these rods?

Does anybody have any?

Does anybody know where I can find a retailer to sell them?

What is yall's opinions on these rods?

Not familiar with that particular model, but they have been making rods for a long time. They just get overshadowed by the reels.

STETS,

Â* Â* Garcia rods have been around since the 60's. When the 308 spinning reel first hit the American market, you normally saw them on a Garcia "Conolon" rod or a Eagle Claw rod. Back then both were about as whippy as a willow branch. This was not a problem then, as most people fished crankbaits. The advent of the plastic worm in the 70's brought about changes in fishing rods, but they went to extremes. The first Zebco "worm rod" had about as much action as a push broom handle. It had the backbone to set the hook, but lacked the action to cast the light plastics. Add to the fact that the only reels available were the old "levelwind", which were notorious for backlashes, the old Garcia/Mitchell (ditto on the backlashes) and the new imported Daiwa "Millionaire" (also ditto on backlashes) Add to the fact that mono line had recently came out and was about as limp as fence wire. Most people did not cast, they let line out behind the boat and trolled a deep diving crankbait until they caught something (anything)!!

I just checked http://www.abugarcia.com/products/index.cfm

and they sell those conolon rods you were talking about, and they also sell these Brute Rods.

Abu Garcia is making Spoons, in-line spinners, and also reel oil.

I got 2 questions:

How does Abu Garcia make the best line of baitcasters and price most of them mostly under $100.00?

(Even there new D5 is under $100.00) (Shimano and Daiwa can't say they do that consistantly)

Where can you buy their rods and lures?

(I can't find a retailer that sells that stuff)

Stets, I think you may have to go on line to find what you are looking for.
