Default Chatterbait

Anyone tried a chatterbait yet? Seems to be the hot bait right now. I bout a couple of them, but haven't had the chance to try them yet. Going to Lay Lake in Alabama this weekend. I'll let you know how they do.

Looks like a spinner bait after I had it hung up on a log and mangled it. I'll get some and try them this year though, why not?

Looks like a mixed up mess. Zooker, I think someone is stealing your ideas. You better start applying for a patent pending, so you can get rich from the royalties fee. P N J

You are right, PnJ-that does look like one of Zooker's out-of-the-box creations.

you should put that thing on ebay, they're going for like 30 dollars....for a jig!!! About 2 weeks ago I saw one go for $108. I don't think I could ever bring myself to pay that much unless it was like the actually smithwick signed that vandam won the classic on.

Yeah, I saw when they were going over a hundred dollars. I wish I had mine on ebay when they were going that high.

It's hot down in the south where you can catch big heads swimming jigs. Maybe it will work, maybe not, I'll see Saturday.

Interesting video, kinda looks like an adaptation of the swim jig. Keep us posted on your results with it.

Where's the video of that thing catching fish? Didn't the Banjo Minnow or the Flying Lure teach them anything about making video's?

RyanO, I never heard of a chatterbait until I saw your post. Pretty cool!
I agree with everyone that the inventors should have put a big bass in video. Notwithstanding that oversight, I will still purchase one or two.

I don't get this lure at all, you can add noise like we have been for years with rattles, or beads on your line, or good ol denny baurers rattleback jig.
Plus when you work a jig, it seems to me you are slowly hopping it over structure, timber etc...I can't see how this bait could be effective if you make the clacker work, you would have to be running that jig in a "swimming motion"...
I'll stick to my rattles, or just run my spinnerbaits over the same area, for the same effect...

Not from the south?? A huge tatic here is to "swim" the jig. You swim it in front or through grass or swim it by structure. It's been known to catch alot of big bass in FL and AL lakes and probably other places too. Often you swim it fast like a spinnerbait. The advantage with this bait is the vibration the blade causes while swimming it. Granted I haven't used it yet, but I know of a couple of people who have caught fish on it. It's worth a try for me at Lay because I have a tourny there next month, and that lake is known for catching big bass while swimming the jig.
