Favorite New Stuff

All righty then,
Heres the deal, We are going to basspro shop north of cincy to stock up, and it got me wondering, what new products over the last couple years that you've tried, and recommend? One nice benefit of this forum is learning the newest trends in lures, plastics etc...so my question is to forum members, whats top on your list, (in other words, you have bought and tried a new lure, and would recommend it)...
pointers, speed craws, sweet beaver etc, you know the drill...
any suggestions?

I don't know how long they have been around but last year was my first time trying a Zoom horny toad and I had good luck with those.

Well Theres Always My Favorite Lunker Lure Buzzbaits (old As Dirt But Catch Fish). I Loaded Up On Acme Sidewinders And Little Cleos Last Time I Was There. I Like Them A Good Bit. Im Not Too Impressed With Basspro. I Like Smaller Stores That Sell What Catches Fish More Than Fisherman. Dont Get Me Wrong Basspro Is Awesome. But They Just Have Basic Stuff. I Dont Know Maybe Its Cause I Go There Almost Every Friday. Dont Forget Bout The Speedcraws Too As You Have Said.

As far as plastics go, I love the sweet beaver and the smallie beaver. These have been very hot baits for me lately.

Mann's hardnose plastics are also a new favorite of mine. The curly tail that looks like a zoom big dead ringer, but with the hard nose, the worm will rip before that thing comes off the hook.

I have to agree with bassthumb. When it comes to buying lures/baits, small shops are better.

Anyway, my recommendation is that you pick up some smoke colored salty shads from "Case". I learned about this plastic from a Smallmouth guide.

The Salty Shads look like standard flukes but are heavily salted so they sink. Also, they are much softer than a plain rubber fluke (like a Bass Assassin). This definately helps w/ hook penetration. The only problem is that BPS doesn't sell em' You can jump on the web sight though. I can't remember the exact name but if you go to "backwoodsangler.com", scroll to the bottom of the cover page, and hit the Case icon, it will put you on the site. You might want to also check out some of the new fat tubes from Case. I don't have any but plan to order some (gotta throw something different now and then).

anywho, thanks for the input, I know I need some Kalin grubs, among other stuff, I've stocked up on some horneytoads, and I've tried the beaver before and sent em to fishie lol...up here we had super clear water last year, I may go more natural colors on all baits..

JB, I know the Sinkin Salty Shads don't look impressive but you gotta' see them in the water. The heavy salt makes all the difference. I wouldn't fish any other fluke.

Basskicker, the tubes are listed for $4.59 a 10 pack.

I am sad that everyone is looking at the new fat tubes (which I haven't used) and ignoring the Sinkin' Salty Shads. As I mentioned to JB, the salty shads appear to look like all the other flukes, but they are very heavily salted. This really gets them down in the water and gives them some action.

Basskicker, they sell the Case baits at many smaller tackle shops. I buy my case baits at Angler's Paradise in Allentown, Pennsylvania. However, I think you can e-mail the Case company direct from the site.

Interestingly, when the company was smaller, my friend would call them directly. According to my bud, the company was essentially an old guy workin' out of his garage. I suspect that the company grew especially since I saw Case - Mad Toms at Cabela's (for whatever reason, this was the only case product that Cabela's carried).

spike it lures are way fly i have been using them as trailers here and there. lunker lure crawfish scent-ohhhhyeahhh! smells like....well never mind.. the dispencer is worth every red cent.

tell me what your intrested in-tackle wise i know the other - and will tell you ifin it is worth it..

What are tiger tubes? (This is the second time I had to ask about a lure today. Earlier on someone mentioned chatterbaits. I never heard of those either).
