I don't fly fish much, but I do know some about fishing for bass and brim. For brim, you can basically use anything big enough for them to fit their mout aound. I've caught brim on things that look like spiders or grass shrimp. I've never fly fished for bass, but when the topwater bite is on, just go with some poppers and you'll get some.

Well some purists catch bass on clouser minnows or wooly buggers, but most people stick to the poppers or big dry flys. Most of the time I stick to either large parachute style dry flies or a foam pattern with rubber legs and a little deer hair. Bass arent picky though, just as long as the fly is big enough to make an impression it will catch bass.

I used to fly fish for bass and bream both. The others are pretty much right on. About all I ever used was popping bugs, and sponge rubber spiders. I might have to look into getting a couple of them and trying it again. (When you fish with your wife, you always think in terms of two of everything.)
