The only thing I have ever seen 12v is one of those windshield defroster gadgets. I have never seen one in operation though. During my tournament I bought that heater for I used the Hot Hands , and they in fact did last all day. Worked well , one in each glove , one in each sock.

The 12 volt heater is an RV appliance. I bought one for my Bourban while fishing the surf on cold days. The idea was to heat the cabin up for a nap and not run the motor to heat the cabin. It worked well all toasty and warm. Took a 4 hour nap woke up and could not start the Burban up due to dead battery. Luckly I had a second battery on a switch over and truck started right up.

My fishing buddy way back got one of those electric coolers and put a 12 pack of beer in it and had it on his boat.. killed the starter battery in about an hour.

The hand warmers are the best option I would guess.
