I have a buddy that has one of these, I laugh my *** off at him every time he pulls it out. This thing couldn't catch fish, if it had 9 treble hooks, and the fish were in a 5 gallon bucket. For those of you who don't know what it is, it is a Bill Dance product that looks like a small fish with a curly tail glued to a broken handle of a spoon. Biggest piece of marketing I have ever seen. I thought it was a joke the first time I saw it, laughed my *** off at it. The buddy who had it doesn't bring it out any more around us, except when we need a laugh at the boat ramps after weigh in.

Sounds about as bad as the Dance's Eel that Bill Dance tried to endorse back in the 80's. Looked more like an overgrown tadpole.

maybe the guy you fish with has no clue how to use it, or maybe you guys just laugh because it looks funny, but hell, when i use it I almost everytime catch fish. Its a great little lure to try when fishing slows down.

the small ones are good for crappies, but no one cares about crappies so they are worthless in my eyes.....

But, if you like crappies, like i said, the smallest ones are deadly

Catch em up

Tom, the odd thing is I don't even know what a blade dancer is nor do I remember posting this question...unless its something I saw on TV 2 years back and somebody pulled it off of page 55.

I think when Kevin went to the new boards some posts were attributed the the wrong people. I don't go for these gimmicks....seriously. Now pass me another bag of walkin worms.

Its a variation of the Johnsons silver minnow.. That Roland Martin talked so highly of during his fishing shows in the 80's and 90's...I never had any luck with the silver minnow, but have read many articles that people swear by them.

Johnson spoons have been a good lure for 70 years. They cast well and come through the vegitation they have down in florida better than spinnerbaits.

Man I tried and tried with that dern johnsons minnow through the vegetation , I even got a floating version, but looking back I was probably running it to fast. The reason being because I could hit that same area with a frog at a super slow pace, and have more blowups.
I can see were this blade runner could work, and the grub tail skimming the water for extra attraction.
I still think they ripped of the blade runner movie title and video game LOL

I used this for many hours this past season. I caught absolutely no fish with this thing. I was amazed that I could not get it stuck. I was throwing this into weeds that were so thick the water could not be seen. I would throw this thing as far as I could, and bring it back in with no snags. Not once did I hang this thing up.

Yeah, Bill Dance had nothing to do with the Blade Dancer, it's Berkely. Probably the same clowns that make their Trilene garbage. Seriously, I would'nt sew buttons on my shirt with that line. The Blade Dancer is a joke, I force myself to try these new-fangled lures even though I know In-fisherman only promotes them because Berkely sponsors them.

Trilene is far from garbage. Big Game is in every way a solid monofilament.

Why would I try Big Game? I live on the Illinois/Wisconsin border and I'm not fishing for salmon, muskies, or flathead catfish. If it's such a "solid monofilament" why don't they just call it Trilene and only produce that type of mono? If Gulp! hadn't work just as well as they claimed, I would've boycotted Berkely altogether.

Big Game is widely used for bass Krueger. I know that tons of people on this site use it as well.

LIES! I challenge any Trilene user to test it by tying it on your scale and tugging 'til it breaks. Then check the scale. No other line I've used breaks before the pound test on the box. I can't imagine that every spool I bought was dry rotted in the package. If that's true then they rot way too fast, the same year it was made!

Nobody has anything to say about how great Gulp! fishes?

Dude, I may not know everything but I know a little about Big Game. You obviously dont since you thought it was a salmon line. Go get a spool at walmart, try it on your scale - you will find that it does better than the pound test rating it was given.

The bass don't grow to 9 lbs. around here. I don't consider them big gamefish. Like I said before, if it's so great, why don't they stop making the other stuff? Or call it Panfish? You'd need 20 lb. Trilene to land a 2 lb. crappie, and good luck getting them to bite a lure tied to that size line.

If I get Big Game and it breaks before it's rating are you gonna' refund my money? Why waste my time? I'll just bring my scale to the store and show the fishing department guys why they shouldn't suggest anyone purchase this over-marketed garbage!
