Default Floating Rat-L-Traps

Now I have inherited two floating ratltraps, and all gold and sliver with a blue back to it. When and where would be the best time to use them. And if you know, cant you use them in saltwater and get hits?

I've got a floating Rat-l-trap. Thay have a little floatation in the very back tip so if it just sits there then it's butt will hang out of the water. It ill sink once you reel fast enough. I've caught a 2 LB. on one but thats it.

On to the question. I'm not sure if you can use them in saltwater? You could if you wash them off with freshwater once you are done with them. If it's chrome w/ a blue back it should get a hit in saltwater depending on the size if it's small then it probably won't.

How big is it?

I primarily use mine in freshwater around cover.

Wes

We pound the salmon off shore with plugs, but you have to re-rig with the proper size hardware in stainless steel or just replace hooks every time. Driftboaters have relied on bass plugs for years to catch salmon and steelhead in rivers and salty estuaries.

The floating rattle trap will run about two feet deep or so when your retreive it. It's great for fishing flats or over grass beds.

I didn't notice any in their catalog, but there are suspending Spots, if that interests you.

In some situations I think floating rat-l-traps are awesome... i was fishing crankbaits and "regular" rat l traps one time and my friend was using a floater i couldnt get a hit but he caught around 6 good sized bass one being almost 5 pounds
