1 piece, unless its a travel rod.
1 piece rods do not lose the sensitivity from the ferrule that you get on a two piece. And it is really aggravating to make a cast and the top half of the rod come lose and slide down the line.

Most of your two pice rods are also considerably lesser quality and I have had many split right at the ferrule. I quit useing them over 10 years ago.

and you can buy fairly decent 1 piece rods for just a few dollars more than the best 2 piece rods.

Your sensitivity is greater with one piece rods.

My brther and I were standing on the dock last Friday night, mainly haing a few beers but throwing some baits in. I was using the only 2 piece that I have and I cast a scum frog out and we heard a loud noise! Turns out the end of my rod went into the drink! Pretty funny at the time, especially in our state. But, just another story as to why you shoud use 1 piece rods.

1 piece will be more sensitive and 2 piece will be easier to transport. I've got a few of each. I can put plenty of 7' one piece rods in the jeep, but if I'm in the car, I gotta take my 2 piece rods.

Ditto to zooker, unless packing them through the woods, and jungle. Then you gotta go with the 2 piece to break down, and you can carry them much easier.
