Default Fish Finder Help

Hey everyone I need to borrow you'lls expertise for a few moments. I am looking to purchase a new fish finder & need some help on which one is the best for the buck.

Looking to spend around $300-$400
Color versus black & white etc...

I know Lowrance/Eagle or Garmin are great brands but thats about all I know.

Everybody please advise your thoughts & if this is a respost I apologize I must have missed when I looked over the previous threads.

Anyways Please HELP!!!!!

I am in the same boat. I have been comparing the Lowrance X67c and the Eagle 320c for the front. The Eagle is a lot brighter, don't know if this will matter in the sun, otherwise they are pretty similar.
Also looking at the Lowrance X102c vs. the Eagle 500c for the rear. Both of these seem pretty good, the Eagle is a lot less expensive.
I am also looking for specific opinions in general. I know that I want something with a 60 deg. cone, not 20 and that is about it. I don't really need GPS on the smaller lakes around here but is that something you need?

either eagle or lowance are good stay way from humming birds. color do NOT live up to as advertised and turn silver in direct sun light.. i prefure the black and white which you can adjust on many of the better units..

bender never regretted the money i spent on the eagle graph i currantly have..

As a guy who sells fishfinders/gps on a daily basis...I reccomend lowrance over garmin. I think the 337c and 332c is a great unit. Cost about 599.99 if you want a litle less expensive try out tthe x107 or the x125. Garmin does make a few nice units too. The 182map/192map. These are both fishfinders and gps combos right up your alley in terms of pricing. They are both color and if you want to use the GPS part of require a seperate chip for 109.99. Check out www.westmarine.com tha should point you in the right direction.

My .02........Lowrance is the way to go. I have tried several brands and settled into the fact that Lowrance is the best. I havent tried the color ones and dont plan to. Dont see any need in it at all. I just purchased 2 X52's and found that they do a excellant job for me. Great detail and very affordable.

I think the X67 would be my choice if I was in the market. Bassintxlady did some extensive research on fish finders and we really liked the X67. A Lowrance will most likely be our next unit, for both the bow and the dash.

They are like a turd with a nice dress on. Once you buy one and start using it you find out that all the so called capabitlities are very SHORT termed. They dont hold up....I could go on and on bout these turds.

yep i agree with laser. i have had over and inch of water between the screen and the glass in a system that is "water proof" sending a unit in cost more than a new one anyway and they lie like a dog..
