ya, you can put a T/M or a 15-25hp stick steer motor on those boats most likely. or you can put both a T/M and small outboard on it.

The Cabela's website shows a maximum HP rating of 2 for the smaller boat and 5 for the larger boats. You would be better served spending the money on a good trolling motor and a battery. Those boats aren't designed for speed, but for fishing small bodies of water.

I would have guessed that they would have taken a bigger motor than that, too.

Jordan,

Go look at the post about zooker's new fishing hole in the Non-Fishging related board. Check out the chair on styrofoam. I'm guessing that's the least exspensive floating type thing you could have.

I've been on one of those that a friend has. Putting any outboard on the would be a scary proposition IMO. Better to just get a trolling motor. They are small, and have very little room. Plus a 15HP might just sink it ??? They would be ideal for someone to use occasionally around SMALL ponds and REAL small lakes. But any bigger body of water a Jon boat would be a much better choice IMO.

You might want to go with a used jon boat.I've seen those things flip out from under w/ 2 people in it( a couple of times.Of course , that was several years ago. They probably make them a lot more stable now.
