Default Medium vs. Medium-Heavy

I'm looking into a new spinning rod used for t-rigs and just wanted to know if yall prefer a Medium or Medium-Heavy rod and why you favor it. I was also wondering the same thing between either Fast or Extra Fast.
Thanks

Most of my fishing is done with bait casting gear, but I would choose a medium heavy for most t-rig applications. First, you have to drive that hook though the plastic bait and then into the fishes bony mouth. I first used a medium power spinning rod years ago and had a lot of fish come unbuttoned. But since I switched to MH, that is no longer an issue. As for fast or extra fast, I think either would work, but I'd probably go with the XF if I had to choose.

Depends on where you're fishing, and how big of texas rigs. Are we talkin about the standard rig (7 - 8 worm, 3/16 - 1/4oz weight, and a heavy 3/0 worm hook), fishing in pads, and thick vegetation, or brush. Or do you mean a little 4" worm with a 1/0 hook and 1/8oz weight?

If it's the later, go with a medium spinning rod. If it's the former, go with MH rod (casting rod it better).

I agree that it depends on what baits you will be fishing. If your using baits like 7" or bigger worms, creature baits, or any other bigger profile bait then personally I feel that a medium heavy is a must. If your fishing smaller profile baits like trick worms, shaky heads, senkos, ect. then a medium rod will probably be best. If your using braided line then that changes things too because you can get away with a lighter rod because of the lack of stretch with braid. One thing to remember though, it's easier to ease up on a hookset to compensate for having a rod that is a little too stiff than it is to set the hook harder and get good penetration with a rod that is too light.

I too would recommend a MH. If you go with a med, I would use braid and sharp hooks. You can always use a fluoro leader if you're afraid of line shy fish. I would also probably try to use smaller hooks, a big heavy wire 5/0 hook isn't going to penetrate as well as a 3/0 hook. I would also try to limit my distance, it's going to be harder to get a good hook set on long casts.
