Must not have looked good enough... Maybe I was temporarily blinded by the yellow tessera rods.

I can see this rod for $69.99 in a couple of months when they have their spring sale. I would rather save a little and buy a St. Croix Mojo or spend a little more and get a Powell.
I agree. We checked them out at BPS yesterday, seemed cheap to me. I didn't like them.

I have 2 of these rods and I can say that they are great. I have mostly used SC Mojos and IMO this rod blows them away. I plan on replacing all my rods (except my Loomis) with Carbonlites soon. They are extremely sensitive and light weight. I have one Loomis GLX and the BPS carbonlite feels just as sensitive and strong as it does. For the price, I dont feel that it can be beat.

I picked up the carbonlite 6'8" med. XF spin rod for finesse applications and while I've only used it a couple of times so far I like it. Sensitivity is very good and its definitely light in weight. Want to fish more with it though before I'd recommend it.

I just got another 6'6" MH carbonlite rod and a Carbonlite reel to go with it. I am in love with this reel. It is so smooth and it will cast farther than any other reel I own (Diawa, Shimano, Quantum and BPS). I am going to sell my 2 Johnny Morris silver reels that I just got a few months ago and use the money to get a couple more carbonlite reels instead. The carbonlite reel matched with the rod is simply an awesome combo. BPS has finaly come up with a couple of winning products that are affordable. I caught many bass over 5lbs that past few days with no trouble at all and I could feel most everything when using P-Line Evolution 10lb line.

I like mine...brought in several from 5-7 lb in a couple weeks past and no problems. actually handles big fish better than my 'big' rod. You dont realize how stout a rod it is due to its weight.

Yep, they have great backbone. Went to Lake Eufaula for a 2 day tourney this past weekend and my cabonlite reel and 6'6" mh carbonlite rod had enough backbone to hook and pull in a 4 foot gator (weeds and all) that probably weighed in the 30lb range with no problems. I will post a pick of the gator soon. It was a rush. I miss my frog though.

Here is the gator. Sorry for image quality I took the pick with cell phone right after he cut the line with his teeth. You can still see part of the frog bent over his snout. I hope it can get rid of that 5/0 hook stuck in it's mouth someway cause I wasn't gonna remove it.
