Default Would you like the "mystery"?

If you were fishing in a tournament circuit do you think it would be interesting to add in a "mystery" destination like the Elite Series did?

I think it's a neat idea and a cool throwback to the early Classics but they are going to find out a month ahead of time. It really isn't too much of a mystery. If everyone plays by the rules, it will keep them from pre-scouting and getting local information.

I like that BASS is at least trying different things. While I don't think the mystery lake is as big a deal is they are making it out to be, I do applaud the effort and I also really enjoy the new post season format. The head to head is really cool and the fan voting is too. I also like that they did away with co-anglers. I do wish that they would go to a 10 tournament regular season though and not have half the season scheduled during the spawn.

I think in order for the mystery lake to have much of an effect it would have to be a pretty large trail that covered a large portion of the country. If a smaller trail just had a tournament on a mystery lake that was in the area chances are everyone fishing the tournament would still have some experience on the lake.

Thats interesting - what about a "mystery trail"? Do you think anglers would sign up if they were given dates but no specific destinations until signups were concluded?

i think ALL major tournies should be that way. don't tell the pros where they are going, get them all on a bus, plane or whatever, cose the windows. show up at the lake 'blind' so to speak, all use the same rods, reels, baits and boats like in the old days. then see who is the better fisherman. heck make it on some of the smaller rivers and so forth. give them a real challenge. they have fished every MAJOR lake there is over and over again. give them a lake they have never seen....if that is possible.
