Default Just purchased a boat what should I go for on electronics

i just got a boat and want to put some electronics on it but i really cant decide whether to go humming bird or lowrance im kinda of leaning towards humming bird for side imaging and down scan

chevy/ford thing really. go with what your wallet will let oyu. sounds liek you already made your choice,lol. each brand has pros and cons i think. depends on waht oyu are wanting. now me? i jsut want it all, hahaha. but i can't afford it. others will add their thoughts. wait for a bit. good luck.

Both make great products. I been a H Bird man for a long time. I like the GPS mapping picture on the Lowrance systems better. Long as you get one easy to see screen for side imaging size wise you'll be happy.

It kinda looks like humminbird is winning the war, especially on cost. But it is Ford or Chevy. One thing I have heard everyone say though is get the biggest screen you can afford. All the guys I talk to who bought the 5 in units are selling them to something bigger they can actually see with the definition available.

Read carefully what you want to buy prior to buying,many enrty level units are black and white or 60 deg versus 90 or 180.
As for size of screen they do schroll in and enlarge, just a larger screen gives more pic so one doesnt have to as much.
Both brands are good I own bird myself.Two both are 5 in units.
