Going Fishing Tomorrow. Need Help Now!!!
I am going fishing tomorrow at a small local reservoir. Mostly rock and mud bottom, and rocks around it. Water temp is cold, dont know exactly, and clarity is is semi-murky. Mostly open water except for a thick patch of weeds and reeds. I am shore fishing with a 6ft. 6 inc. MH action rod, and spincasting reel. Is this the right equipement. What lures should I use tomorrow.
P.S. - I live in Ohio |

Re: Going Fishing Tomorrow. Need Help Now!!!
It is a safe bet the water will be cold. In the rocks I would throw something that resembles a crawfish-a jig, a crawbug, something along those lines. Around the weeds I would throw a suspending jerkbait like an X-Rap or a rogue. Whatever you decide to use, I'd fish it slow.

Re: Going Fishing Tomorrow. Need Help Now!!!
Most of my cold water success comes primarily forma jig. Depending on your clarity, I always fall back on black & blue. I always use a pork trailer as well. You say your fishing from the bank, I would cast down the bank and work the jig so slow it is almost boring to you. For casting the banks, I usually use 1/4-3/8 ounce jig. Remember, slow is the key. And you feel any of these:
1. Slight bump 2.a "wet sock" 3. Trash on the bottom. SET THE HOOK! Tight lines, and good luck. |
