Strike kings are good, but I have really become a fan of War Eagles. Terminators are good, too.

I could never see much difference among brands as far as their ability to draw strikes. I'll buy based on blade configuration, skirt color, line tie, quality of components, etc., as opposed to the actual brand name.

Marty, you hit the nail on the head for me also. I have probably eight different brands, but always pick the one I use by those exact parameters.

Well, as far as brand name goes, it really doesn't matter but it does, lol. By this I mean that all spinnerbaits will catch fish, and that blade type, is much more important than brand name. Some spinnerbaits are made with much more weaker material than others. This is not to say that they won't catch fish, just to say that they won't last as long. The best thing you can do is stick with your major brands. These baits are made to customer specks over years of experience. Now, non of them are going to last forever like they used to, but some will last longer than others. Strike King, of course, Terminator, although they are way over priced, I still love the Hank Parker Classic baits. In fact, I have probably caught more fish on those than anything else in the past year or two. In the end, it all comes down to trying different brands, finding what you like, and what find to be more procuctive on your type of water. Good fishing

Funny you should mention that one. Just a few weeks ago I bought my first-ever Classic (a 3/8 ), mainly because I wanted one with a closed loop line tie. It seems to have thinner wire than I'm used to. The first time I used it, I caught three pickerel, and the first one, only 17", bent the wires all over the place, as did the next two, neither of which were large. I was able to straighten the wire back, but it doesn't seem to have the durability that other SBs that I've owned have.

I've been using terminator's lately. Not because they catch any more fish, but because the wire doesn't have to be straightened out after every fish.

The one's I've gotten at Wally World for a buck catch just as many fish.

well, catching pickeral on a spinnerbait is an extreme example of the damage that can be caused to a spinnerbait by a fish. Yes, the Parker classic spinnerbaits do have very light wire, and yes, they usually do have to be bent back after a fish or two, but this is the reason they are so effective. They are not made cheap, they are made this way on purpose. The light wire produces more vibration than any other spinnerbait I know of. I have caught redfish on them time after time, and there isn't a harder test on a spinnerbait than that. The wire will bend, but just straighten it back and you are in business. good fishing

i have to aggree with my just straighten them back the whole trick is to bend the bait back in the "perfect" shape that every one likes/perfure's titanium does not bend up ok but it makes tweaking the bait very difficult i have broke more then i really will amitt to doing this.

I used to catch a lot more pickerel some years ago and never remember bending a SB wire, even with big pickerel. I was using mostly Bush Hog SBs in those days.

But I'm glad you mentioned your experience with the Classics so that I know what happened with mine was normal for that bait.

I've been using Terminators a lot lately but, like Cajun said, I too have buck ones from wally world and with a quick hone of the hook, maybe a skirt or a blade change, if a spinner bait bite is on, they will be eaten just as readily as any other spinnerbait it seems.
