I could be wrong, but I believe it is a tournament strategy where you have say 4 or 5 decent spots and you hit them all up in the course of a day trying to catch active fish. So its like a milk run, with different stops.

It's not fair for me to answer, since I already read responses at you know where. By the way yours was a good post as usual.

I would have to say a milk run for me is to hit certain spots that seem to always hold a fish or 2 for me. Getting a pattern isn't as important as knowing where the fish usually are. Just my 2 cents. It is where you run at multiple locations that you know usually hold fish. Of course it can be messed up by any # of variables.

Yes, that's pretty much it...fishing several good spots in order. It can be 5 or 50 spots...fished in 1 go-round or many.

As always, it pays to find the pattern within a pattern. ie... Fish all the east-facing banks in the AM when they're shaded and the west-facing in the PM. Or fish the shallow spots early and deep later. You get the picture.

i have about 10-12 decently consitant spots on my favorite lake. 3 of them shut off when the sun hits them and 2 others turn on about 4 pm.for some reason i just can't catch fish before this time..

If it came down to it I could see Zook doing a beer run before his milk run! and if this is the case he'll never get around to the milk run!

milk run = hole fishing = yuk

I'm a pattern angler regardless if I know the lake or not. A hole angler will be wooped by a pattern angler at least 90% of the time if not more.

Where you become thirsty, decide that you want some milk, and run to the refridgerator to get some.

well i will give an example of a milk run

It was yesterday Oct28,2004 that i noticed that our family was outt milk. So i said to my parents" Mom, Dad, we need milk to drink." they tottally agreed with this fact. Then we hopped in the truck and drove down to the local food mart. We went into the store and purchased a gallon of milk. We then hopped into the truck and went home. When we got home, i opened up the milk and drank it, then i said" problem fixed" And we had milk from then on, or at least till monday!
;D
