Default A couple pics from yesterday...

My fishing buddy and I have made a pact that we will use no bait smaller than 6". With the exception of top water baits.

All I can say is if you dont own a 4 1/2" Jitter Bug, you should!

The action on this lure was just crazy. Caught a few 2 pound fish. Missed a 5 +. The largest fish landed was a 5 pound 7 ouncer (in the photo below).

The other photo is of a 4 pound 11 ouncer jumping, got it on white titanium spinner....

Hmmm, I'm sure those are some great fish, but, I can't see the pics? What web sight did you link them from? It may be one my dad's fire wall blocks.

We've had a lot of rain the last few days ah! The ponds I fish needed it though!

btw, what lake was it?

Nice pics and fish! maybe you should keep that 6" minimum going with a 6" jitterbug! yes, they do make them.

I can get you a link to a shop you can buy it from if you want to.

Definitely! PM me the link if you can. All Ive been able to find on the net is the 4.5"

Thanks a bunch!

PS: Going to try 6" tubes next. Also order Ish's 12/0 tube hook. Hoping that throwing something new might give the educated bass a little motivation to bite.

Maybe I asked in the past, forgive me if I forgot...

How do you always get such good pics of fish jumping? Do you take the pics while fighting the fish, or does a buddy take them? Is it just a standard camera? Any special settings?

I assume he's using a high-end DSLR with a fast shutter.

WTL, if you remember the camera I brought to the event...it will do 6 frames per second for about 15 minutes with the memory I have in it, and if it's bright enough outside. Yay for stupidly expensive technology! Fish with me next time, and we'll get a pic of one of your hawgs leaping for joy.

I was wondering the same thing about those jumping photos, what incredible quality and such perfect timing. Nice fish too!

I use a Canon S3 on the action setting. Sometimes Ill use it on "auto" with a high ISO setting. The best pics I have taken were at peak sunlight, that way I can go full manual without getting much grain in the photo.

As far as timing goes. I fold the screen out to the side. That way I can watch the fish, and screen at the same time. If you pull the trigger the second the fish breaks water, you should get a good mid jump image.

The key to getting clean photos, with a high ISO, is using the largest pixel size image. That way after you crop out unwanted background images, and then you downsize it to 800 x 600, it wont look so grainey. Adjusting the images levels in photoshop helps too.

Just to be clear, the above fish were my buddies. I take the pics, my buddy catches the fish. The bass I catch generally look like this (i.e. boring still frames):

or this...
