Default fishing is slow

It seems like every lake I go to doesn't have any fish left in it any ideas why I'm not catching anything?

I have thought the exact same thing. Mostly it's just the time of year. The last few times I've been I haven't gotten a bite. And the boats coming in to leave are saying the exact same thing. I think I'm going to hang back until fall. Seems like the fish will be back when the temps drop some.

what he said.. its even worse this year thanks to above average temperatures. Your only hope at gettin a bite is fishin between midnight and sun-up.. and fish S-L-O-W....

jsut wait a couple of weeks when the temp drops guys. they are hiding in "a/c" points now. lok for moving water with LOTS of cover. if oyu're on a spot that there is a cree or other body of water moving into it. fish it.

Same here! I fished a small lake (70 acres) all day last Sunday and never had a bite! I fished pretty much the whole thing from flipping laydowns to a piece of wood I found in 17'. Nothing!!!

I did go today to a much bigger lake and did only O.K. considering it was the middle of the day. All fish that I caught were on crankbaits but I did have a couple tear the legs off a craw. I did find some great looking pads and not a thing on a frog, flipping the holes, or even with a wacky rig around the edges.

FF, it is not you or where you are fishing-it is the time of year. Summer fishing is about like winter fishing-slow. We don't have a lot of energy during the heat of the day, and neither do the fish. Like bama said, wait a few weeks until the water starts to cool down-it will pick up.

Same pitiful luck here in NC guys. I'm gradually covering all the lakes & ponds I have access to, and there's just no fish interested in anything I throw at them.

Same here in western Michigan. The few I've caught have been small. As others said its just the time of year but cooler weather isn't far away. Fall is my favorite time of year for fishing as there's less traffic on the water, temps are more comfortable and the fish start feeding agressively again to store up for the winter....can't wait!!

Lately, what has been working well for me has been fishing those predawn hours with a topwater bait near the banks. I had 6 good bites early Saturday morning and was able to land 4 of them. The two biggest worth mentioning were: 18" LMB 2lbs10oz. and 17" LMB 2lbs.

maybe for you, we still have another 3-4 months before it starts cooling off (unless we get another early winter, even then we still have at least 2 months)

I got some bites today but none landed I'm guessing because the sky has been overcast all day so it hasn't been to hot today
