New PB
I planned to fish a little lake (maybe 50 acres) early this morning but I stayed up making baits too late again last night. I got up at 9 and decided to go anyway for a couple of hours. I have only ice fished the lake before but it is too small for the bass boat so I took my little plastic Bass Raider. It has steep breaks with pads all the way around the shore that go down to 17'. I got one on topwater and about 6 on our Nemesis Sicko 5" KLK worms wacky rigged. Nothing on the frog since the water is down over a foot.
I was getting ready to head in and decided to try one more point on the way in. I tossed out the wacky rig beside the pads and let it sit, they wouldn't hit anything moving. Wait...then see the line move towards the boat in deeper water and reel down and set the hook. The fish started heading deep and made a few runs but I was finally able to grab her. I didn't have a scale or anything since I only grabbed a couple rods, pliers, and a bag of worms out of my boat this morning. I measured the length on one of my rod and it was 23" when I got home and checked it with a tape. That was the fish I have been looking for all year so after a successful release I left. |

That's a great looking bass, and congrats with your new PB!
That's interesting, her measurements are the same as my PB; I wasn't able weigh mine either, but I would put it up around 6# though. ~Mark |
